Pulling TeethFrom the city of Baltimore comes another great demo, featuring current members of The Sparks/Slumlords and ex members of Ruiner and Never Enough all brought together to round out a sound full of brutal speed and fury. First thing that comes to mind when I listened to this 3 song demo that clocks out at a mere 3 minutes is clevo-hardcore, especially Integrity. All the songs are short and straight to the point, but maintain a furious punch throughout. The guitar tone is extremely heavy, it actually reminds me a lot of King of Clubz. There is tons of sinister leads throughout the durations of the songs, as they pound their way through your ears. Lord Dom (Slumlords) lays down some great guitar riffs on this demo. The vocals really take this to another level, rough and abrasive shouting that commands your attention as he touches upon government fallacies in The Kids Are Not Alright and Bleeding To Death. Meanwhile the song Sand and Cells is about the never ending struggle the working man endures, "Eat. Sleep. Work. Die." The production on this thing is damn good for a demo, everything sounds good, the guitar tone especially. The vocals are right were they should be in the mix. Doesn't distract from the music, and only adds to the frenzy the band creates. The layout for the demo is nice, has the lyrics and contact information on the back, with a Ren and Stimpy looking cartoon gorilla getting his tooth pulled with the band logo present. My only gripe is, they really could've used another song for this. A three song demo is cool if theirs a 2 minute song somewhere but 3 minutes is real short.
Rating: 3.9/5
Songs worthy of replay: All of them
Thesis: Very good fast old school metallic hardcore, just wish it was longer
